Business cards are the first hand information about a company or an individual. It is shared during any business meeting or when formally introducing one another. Let’s look at the concept of business card printing:

Business card printing is done through various methods. These are printed on some form of card stock and the method, design and other effects varies according to organizational standards or personal preference.

For high quality business card printing, spot colors are used on sheet fed offset printing presses. Today, companies trademark their spot colors to keep a unique identity of their brand.

If a business card logo is a single color and the type is another color, the process is considered two colors. More spot colors can be added depending on the needs of the card. With the onset of digital printing, and batch printing, business card printing in full color has become a cost effective job.

If you want to give the "raised-print" effect while business card printing, a less-expensive process called thermography is used. It uses the application of a plastic powder, which adheres to the wet ink. The cards are then passed through a heating unit, which melts the plastic onto the card.

Cards that require many colors are printed on sheetfed presses. Screens of each color overprinted on one another create a wide gamut of color.

Some terminology in reference to full-color printing for business card printing:

4/0 - Full Color Front / No Print on Back

4/1 - Full Color Front / One color on reverse

4/4 - Full Color Front / Full Color Back

UV glossy coat (offset-uv printing) can also be used in business card printing. business card printing can be done with a digital copier, which uses toner baked onto the surface of the card.

Today, companies prefer to print cards with English language on one side and local language on the other to add value and increase the acceptance of their specific business. It is a great marketing technique that has been vastly successful in non-English speaking regions.
